Just How Small Are We in This Immense Universe?

I’ve often wondered how scientists know the number of galaxies in the universe. Then I saw the video below. I cried when I watched this because I was so overwhelmed with the enormity–and beauty–of our universe.

Our lives are small and fleeting in the scheme of things, and yet we get caught up in our events, seeing them as eternal and overwhelming. If we could only step back and see the bigger picture.
