Do you suppose it’s possible for a fat, middle-aged woman with various aches and pains to grow younger and healthier? I think it is, and I’m going to do it. Now’s the time to put my natural hygiene principles into action.
As I approach my forty-ninth birthday, I’ve decided I’ve had enough with minor pains I’ve lived with for years. I don’t like falling down either carrying this extra weight. It hurts! Weight loss is a huge concern.
My right hip has been bothering me for a few months, and someone suggested it might be arthritis. And I don’t care for the changes in my skin that I’m seeing. The past two years have taken a toll on my body and it’s really starting to show.
I know better! Like many, I’ve just procrastinated doing something. Here’s the game plan.
- Quit caffeine.
- Go on the 80/10/10 raw food diet.
- Sometime thereafter go on a short fast of water only.
- Begin an exercise program and practice yoga.
- Start meditating every day.
When I decided I wanted to try the 80/10/10 diet, I was worried about the cost. The diet calls for a LOT of fruit, and as you know, the price of produce went up with gas but didn’t come down when gas came down. (Are we surprised?)
So I was sharing my concern with a friend at Starbucks who has also, at twenty-eight, decided to whip herself into shape. Bless her heart, she introduced me to Erie County Farms. The store is open three weeks of the month from Tuesday to Saturday, and the prices are unbelievable. Of course, you have to bump carts with a lot of people and wait in long lines.
I was in shock and awe and filled with happiness and gratefulness when I saw all the wonderful produce at such bargain prices:
4 kiwis for $1
5 mangoes for $4
pineapple $1.99 each
asparagus $1.99 a pound
bananas $0.39 a pound
lettuce $1.39 a pound
avocados $0.69 each
cantaloupe $1.69 each
eggs $0.99 a dozen (for the cats)
I bought three bags of groceries for $44! The food isn’t organic, sadly, but at this time I couldn’t even afford discounted organic.
Too bad I’m giving up cheese, because they had a whole wall of cheeses and four people to slice them. I bought a package of Athenos chunk Feta for $2.99 for my salads (I have another week yet to indulge).
So once again I find myself manifesting what I need and the universe provides!
